Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 23, 2026
Juta ("we," "us," or "our") provides a consumer wellness and family communication service that sends daily text messages to a family member of your choosing and delivers summary updates back to you. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. What Juta is, and is not
Juta is a wellness and family communication tool. Juta is not a medical device, not a clinical monitoring service, not an emergency response system, and not a HIPAA-covered service. We do not collect medical records, clinical diagnoses, or protected health information (PHI).
2. Information we collect
- Account information. The name and email address of the person signing up.
- Recipient information. The first name and mobile phone number of the person who will receive daily check-in texts, plus optional context you choose to share (preferred tone, time of day, zip code for weather, family email addresses for summaries).
- Message content. Texts we generate and send, and any replies received from the recipient.
- Basic usage data. Delivery status, timestamps, and logs needed to operate the service.
- Payment information. If and when paid subscriptions begin, payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store full card numbers.
3. How we use information
- To generate and send daily check-in text messages.
- To produce and send the daily summary email to the family members you designate.
- To operate, maintain, debug, and improve the service.
- To communicate with you about your account, billing, or service updates.
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. Third-party services we use
Juta is built on top of a small set of trusted vendors. Your information is shared with them only as necessary to operate the service:
- Twilio, Inc. for SMS delivery and reply handling.
- Anthropic, PBC for AI-generated message text (Claude API).
- Google LLC (Gmail) for delivering summary emails.
- Make.com (Celonis / Integromat) for workflow orchestration.
- Netlify, Inc. for website hosting and form submissions.
Each of these vendors has its own privacy practices. We encourage you to review them.
5. How we protect information
We use industry-standard practices including encrypted connections, access controls on our admin tools, and the principle of collecting only what we need. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data retention
We retain message logs and summary reports for up to 12 months by default so that families can look back on recent check-ins. You can request earlier deletion at any time by emailing us.
7. Your rights and choices
- Access and deletion. You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete it by emailing chad.hensle@gmail.com.
- Opt out of texts. Recipients can reply STOP to any Juta message to opt out of further messages. Reply HELP for help.
- Cancel service. You may cancel your subscription at any time.
8. Children
Juta is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
